On Sunday, the Cleveland Cavaliers won the NBA Championship and with it made history as the first team to ever come back from a 3-1 game deficit to win it all. It was quite a story and Nike wasted no time aligning themselves with the Cavs with the release of a brand new Nike commercial that chronicled the anticipation of the big win. There’s a lesson here, not so much for big brands who’ve long realized the benefits of brand collaboration, but more so for the small guys who can reap many benefits from a strategic collaboration.
Getting Your Video In Front of the Right Audience

There’s no disputing that video drives awareness, increases engagement, inspires action and is great for SEO. Fast fact: 70% of the top 100 search listings on Google are video results, and the social sharing of videos can affect organic Google search results. But getting your video widely seen and shared by your target audience can be daunting. That’s where collaborations come in. Bloggers, influencers and content channels are a few examples of potential partners with large audiences with a need for content. Invest time in cultivating relationships with the like-minded partners so that they get engaging and entertaining content, while you leverage their audience and boost your relevancy.

Not all collaborations require a cash investment. Seek out partners who share your goals and values and identify what value you can offer, such as free product or access to your database. What’s important is to find the right partner and to nurture the relationship so everyone realizes the benefits.
