How We Reimagined the Runway April 30, 2021
Fashion is all about finding new ways to style old favorites, so when our friends at Neiman Marcus approached us with the challenge of reimagining the classic fashion show – we were all in!
The Approach – A beautiful outdoor location, complete with palm trees and luxury cars all served to capture that iconic Miami-vibe. And while our stunning group of models were top-notch, the true star of the event needed to be the clothes, shoes and jewelry. In order to showcase every outfit in the best possible way, we employed several different camera angles and techniques. From tracking shots, to jib movements, to close-ups, every angle served to bring these designer duds to life on screen in a way that would have not been possible in a traditional live event.
The Turnaround – In the world of fashion, trends change on a dime. To stay relevant, it was critical that we deliver a polished video FAST. Like a well-timed relay race, as soon as our production wrapped, our post-production team was up and running. And while the turnaround was tight, it was our job to, as Tim Gunn would say: “Make it work!”
The Reviews – With our deadline met, Neiman Marcus’ client base was able to enjoy the virtual fashion show from the comfort of their homes. Shortly after, the reviews were in. The event was a success, and our client was as pleased as we were with the final product, citing a spike in sales following the video’s release.
Producing a fashion show with all its moving parts isn’t for the faint of heart, but with an experienced creative and production team, it can be a (cat)walk in the park.
